Job Title: Lead Plumbing Estimator
Location: Tempe, Arizona
Position Overview:
The Lead Plumbing Estimator will be responsible for managing plumbing projects from pre-construction to completion, including estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and overseeing job site activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of plumbing systems, estimating software, and construction project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating:
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for plumbing projects, including material takeoffs, labor, and equipment needs.
- Review project plans and specifications, identify risks, and develop detailed estimates.
- Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Submit detailed bids and proposals and participate in bid review meetings
Project Management:
- Oversee all project phases, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
- Develop project schedules, coordinate with subcontractors, and monitor progress.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Maintain communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams to provide project updates.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Track project costs and manage budgets to ensure profitability.
- Monitor project financials and manage change orders, labor, and materials.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective solutions.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project records, including estimates, contracts, and schedules.
- Prepare and submit progress reports and project documentation to clients and stakeholders.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with General Manager, field crews, and departments for project execution.
- Train and mentor junior estimators and project coordinators as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in plumbing project management and estimating in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems, construction processes, and building codes.
- Proficiency in estimating software (Quote soft or similar) and project management tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Arizona plumbing codes and regulations preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay range: $110,000 to $130,000 annually, based on experience.
