About
Hello, my name is Hamza and I am applying for the position of a HVAC apprentice at your company. I was a computer science student at normandale community college but earlier this year I began to have regrets about the field and the degree. I’ve also heard about the HVAC trade and the field in the past and took an Home Renovation class in high school that had a little mini section that discussed about the responsibilities of HVAC technicians and their jobs. Hearing this really peaked my interest and kept it in my mind all the way up to senior year where I was awarded with a STEM scholar award due to my good performance in my engineering courses. But fast forward to my college application I was really heavily influenced by my parents who disliked the trade and believed that it is a “dirty job” and an “easy” job. So to make them happy I chose computer science but hated every second of it. This past spring I took it upon myself to research more about the trade and field and learned more about the different skills that is required by HVAC service tech like learning different electrical components and the different tools that makes repairing certain systems way easier. I’ve also been looking at different apprenticeships all over the internet because I know that experience is one of THE MOST important things in this trade right behind the ability to soak in everything from your peers and higher ups. Sorry for the small sob story but I just really want to let you know that I am ready and willing to learn more about this trade and make it a life long career. Thank you for taking the time to read this,
Hamza Abdi.
