St. Bernard Hospital is searching for a Maintenance Technician (General) who can perform a wide range of projects, including general repairs and preventive maintenance tasks according to established procedures. The candidate should possess the qualities of problem solving, trouble shooting, and a good communicator.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
Minimum of one (1) year of maintenance experience.

Responsibility Highlights

Perform general maintenance duties to include: general plumbing, electrical, mechanic, welding, and carpentry assignments.
Perform minor electrical repairs including replacing outlets and switches, replacing fuses, and wiring connections.
Provide assistance and/or repairs medical gas outlets.
Repair fixed or suspended ceiling titles, cutting to fit, as needed.
Assemble and install office furniture and modules.
Measure, cut, and install drywall including taping and filling drywall joints and corners.
Prepare surfaces for painting or refinishing using appropriate tools and compounds.
Perform minor plumbing repairs to include unclogging drains, replacing valves and faucets.
Respond to maintenance calls to all hospital departments including off-site clinics and medical buildings.
Repair hospital beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs.
Perform and document preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $27.30 per hour
