We are looking for a Regional General Manager to join our Operations Management team. In this role, you’ll be part of a global team of operations leaders and will manage a team of managers and operators. You’ll own the P&L for your region, will develop and oversee the execution of global initiatives that question the status quo, and will partner cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders to solve the most critical and oftentimes complex problems to push the needle forward.
The ideal candidate exemplifies mature management capabilities and is a proven thought partner. You'll have a background in warehouse management and have a knack for building relationships across an organization at all levels and externally. You’ll be an in the moment problem solver and have the ability to think about the short and long term plan. You’ll have intimate knowledge of how a warehouse operates with demonstrated experience building and scaling and a background in operational excellence.
This is a hybrid position based in the United States on the West Coast within one of the following locations: California (Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento), Washington (Seattle Area), Oregon (Portland), Arizona (Phoenix). If you do not reside in one of these locations, you must be willing to relocate to this area.
The person hired within this role must live within one hour of a Lime warehouse.
- Leadership, Team Building & Collaboration
- Manage and guide a large team directly and indirectly, setting the culture and handling performance management.
- Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering strong retention metrics and creating an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
- Serve as a coach and mentor, empowering team members to achieve their potential
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Government Relations, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Strategy Planning, to achieve regional objectives
- Partner with the Government Relations team to ensure city compliance, advocate for business needs, and negotiate favorable outcomes with local officials.
Operational Excellence
- Drive operational performance across the region, ensuring vehicles and resources are in the right place at the right time to meet business needs.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement and implement bold strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure safety and compliance standards are consistently met throughout the region.
- Review the out-of-warehouse (OOW) network, identifying optimal partners to improve operational efficiency and enhance reliability for customers.
P&L Management & Strategic Direction
- Own and manage the P&L and strategic direction for your region building a multi-year strategy that you translate it into budgets, operating plans, Government Relations tactics, and more
- Analyze large data sets to inform decision-making, identify trends, and drive operational improvements.
- Interpret financial data, including P&L statements, labor costs, and goods expenses, to identify opportunities for cost reduction and profitability.
Business Development & Operational Expansion
- Introduce and scale best practices to streamline operations and improve outcomes across the region while identifying local opportunities to drive topline growth by launching new areas or products within the region.
- Act as a figurehead for the business, advocating for the organization, and meeting with city officials to foster positive relationships.
- Lead efforts to launch new cities or expand fleet operations, ensuring readiness and scalability
- 9+ years of work experience as a highly cross-functional manager with a focus on managing exempt level professionals at the General Manager and Senior Manager levels and a demonstrated background working within a warehouse environment where you owned a full P&L for your region and drove positive financial performance
- 7+ years of experience as a people leader in a warehouse environment, managing a team of professional-level staff for a large and complex region
- Strong operational acumen with the ability to identify and leverage key levers for improvement and to create profitability for your business
- You love building top-tier teams and have a demonstrated background in developing and motivating your team to perform at their best
- Analytically minded with a strong understanding of real-time marketplaces (supply and demand economics) and the ability to interpret financial data and analyze complex data sets to build compelling narratives and reports. Advanced experience using Excel or Google Sheets and knowledge of SQL are a major plus.
- Problem solver skilled at identifying and resolving complex problems, exercising good judgment in drawing conclusions, navigating ambiguous environments while working cross functionally
- Excellent communicator with the ability to flex your communication style to internal stakeholders - such as the C-team or your own team - and external stakeholders such as local government
- Detail oriented with a focus on process improvement, self motivated and energetic, with the drive and ability to learn new skills and grow with the role
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
The anticipated yearly salary range for this position is $115,000 - $198,000. Equity and benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, depending on the position offered. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications as well as the candidate's location of residence. In addition to base salary, some roles may be eligible for a variable bonus based on a combination of company performance, employee performance, and management discretion.
