Mechanical Technician
Location: Las Vegas, NV, USA Pay Rate: $18.00 - $40.00 DOE Pay Type: Hourly Benefits: Medical, Vacation, Holiday, Company Vehicle / Uniform / Phone, Relocation Assistance, Tool Allowance
Work Hours: 7:30am to 5:00pm, with 1 hour lunch; some weekends and evenings
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- 3 + years experience
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints.
- Be familiar with a wide range of equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience making repair and replace decisions.
- Advanced customer service skills.
- Acquire NATE certifications within one year of employment.
- Demonstrate willingness to accept responsibility and leadership roles.
- Knowledge of basic sheet metal practices.
- Knowledge of air balancing principles and techniques.
Qualifications desired:
- Universal EPA Certification
- Certificate of completion from a HVAC Technical School
- NATE Certified
- Insurable driving record
- Possess tools needed
Mechanical Technician job description and expectations:
The Mechanical Tech is to perform installations, retrofits and service repair on residential and commercial projects as needed. This position is a company position and the person in this position will maintain a willingness to advance within the company. The Mechanical Tech hours are directly related to projects associated with installation, retrofit and service repair. This position is full time. The Mechanical Tech may have to fill in for the Installer as needed.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Perform Preventive Maintenance
- Residential Saving Program per MPA
- Commercial Saving program per MPA
- Recognize opportunity for replacement and gather necessary information
- Maintain Client Relationships while performing maintenance
- Communicate with client while performing maintenance
- Maintain professional performance while in the field
- Update inventory records in shop as inventory is removed
- Perform installation of new mechanical systems.
- Residential new construction projects
- Commercial new construction projects
- Residential retrofits and replacements
- Commercial retrofits and replacements
- Installation of IAQ accessories
- Maintain client relationships while performing repairs, installations, and retrofits.
- Communicate with client while performing installation, retrofit or repair
- Maintain professional performance while in the field
- Update inventory record in shop as inventory and materials are removed
- Loading trucks with job supplies as needed.
- Assist Field Supervisor as needed
- Unloading trucks at end of work day.
- Materials back where they belong
- Ensure all tools, equipment and materials are where they belong every day.
- Shop tools replaced where they belong for next day
- Hand tools where they belong in work trucks
- Supplies replenished as needed - coordinate with Labor Hand
- Maintain accurate records.
- Fill out paperwork completely
- Fill out time card accurately and completely
- Daily Progress Reports
- Meet with Production Supervisor and explain reports
- Maintain Company Truck
- Perform proper maintenance of truck every 3,000 miles
- Maintain a clean and presentable work truck
- Drive in a respectful and diligent manner
NOTE:

This position is a company position and advancement opportunities will be available as the candidate learns the skill sets and is able to test out of the position.
