Position Overview:
The Controls Engineer at MCI plays a crucial role in the engineering, design, and manufacturing of equipment for all markets. Some of the equipment MCI produces are pump stations, reverse osmosis/water treatment equipment, control panels, power distribution equipment, and many others. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong electrical and mechanical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities. The Controls Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, program, and maintain PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems for our equipment.
- Utilize industry-standard platforms, with a strong focus on Allen Bradley and Schneider Electric products.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to design control systems that integrate seamlessly with our packaged equipment.
- Integrate control systems with other equipment components, such as motors, pumps, valves, and instrumentation.
- Ensure proper communication and data exchange between various control system elements.
- Implement preventive maintenance routines to ensure long-term reliability and performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of control system designs, configurations, and programming code.
- Collaborate with various departments, including application engineering, manufacturing, and quality control, to ensure the successful integration of control systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in controls engineering for various applications, preferably within a relevant industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of electrical principles, power distribution, controls, and relevant calculations.
- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, UL) and regulations related to control panel design and electrical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot design-related issues.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year

Experience:
- SCADA: 3 years (Preferred)
