This position is responsible for the welding, fabrication and field installation of assigned architectural and industrial jobs. This position is also responsible for getting all assigned fabrication and installation projects done on time and within budget, and with the highest quality possible. This position is also responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all field employees and creating/implementing strong efficiency guidelines. The candidate must have a strong background in welding, fabricating and installing architectural and industrial products. Examples include: Handrails, Wall Panels, etc. Experience installing elevator panels and cladding doors is valuable as well. Pending experience this candidate could serve as a lead installer leading a crew of men on assigned jobs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Must have at least 5 years experience in architectural and industrial specialty metal products to include: handrails, countertops, elevator cabs, wall panels, etc.
Must have MIG AND TIG welding experience.
Must be a team player and able to communicate to the project manager all details of the job frequently.
Track job progress, in a timely manner, reviewing labor and material costs, comparing actual to estimate.
Responsible for bringing job(s) within estimate.
Assure fabrication orders are complete, accurate and on schedule.
Ensure quality of workmanship and product.
Coordinate with fabrication processing and client install needs.
Keep current all applicable paperwork (and/or computer entry), disburse or appropriately file in timely manner.
Control inventory losses.
Assure proper repair and maintenance of shop tools and equipment.
Meet or exceed established goals.
Promote safety and provide a safe working environment for employees.
Attend manpower/scheduling/turnover meetings and provide input.
Manage field personnel (if applicable) to obtain maximum efficiency, productivity and cost savings.
Assure job site is kept clean, organized and well maintained, utilizing available space in the most efficient manner.
Conduct regular evaluations of supervised personnel (if applicable).
Be reliable in attendance and arriving at work on time.
