Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced hands-on leader in the fire protection industry to join and lead our growing Fire Sprinkler Systems Repair & Installation team. This is a full-time position requiring experience in overseeing and project managing multiple fire system repair(s), installation(s), modification(s), and coordinating with various stakeholders/departments. The ideal candidate will be a key contributor in the bidding process, directing junior personnel, and guiding team members in their continuing development.
General Duties
- Lead the repair and installation of fire sprinkler and ancillary systems including underground pipping, etc., in accordance with NFPA 13/13R/13D, NFPA 14/15/16, NFPA 20/22, NFPA 24 and working knowledge of NFPA 25, as well as other localized standards as may be required.
- Perfrom periodic fire system inspections.
- Provide recommendations and repairs to be performed on fire protection systems, as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and operational product manuals to complete the installation of fire protection systems.
- Collaborate and assist the sales team with proposal/bids for new system installations and/or repairs.
- Communicate and assist the service coordination team with scheduling and dispatching.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior team members in the field.
- Coordinate and assist Field Service personnel with testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps and ancillary fire protection systems while following applicable building codes.
- Perform on-site emergency troubleshooting and repairs as may be needed.
- Prepare accurate and timely compliance reports, including deficiency remediation and jurisdictional authority compliance reporting as needed.
- Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with customers, provide counsel and advise to customers and/or their representatives regarding potential fire safety matters.
- Other general duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

Ideal Candidates Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in some combination of installation/service/troubleshooting Fire Sprinkler and Ancillary Fire Protection Systems,
- 3+ years of overseeing/managing projects/construction crews,
- ,High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and tools,
- State of Oregon, Fire Sprinkler Certification or Cit of Portland Automatic Sprinkler System Installation, Alteration, Testing, Service or Repair,
- State of Washington, Level III and/or Journey Pipefitter certification, or willingness to take the Journey Pipefitter certification within 90 days of starting,
- Great attention to details and documentation precision,
- Solid verbal and written communication skills,
- Ability to work independently with little supervision, lead and develop junior team members,
- Proficiency in installation/servicing of fixed fire suppression systems, a great plus
- Working Knowledge of NFPA codes, local fire codes
- ICC certification(s), a great plus
- NICET II or higher certification, a great plus
- Backflow certification, a great plus
- Knowledge of fire extinguishers, a great plus
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions – climbing ladders multiple times per day, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.,
- Carry, move tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Clean driving record and current driving license

Pay: $30.00 - $60.00 per hour

- Fire sprinkler fitting: 5 years (Required)
- Construction: 5 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
