Description:
The Installation Supervisor, under the direction of the Director of HVAC, is responsible for general coordination of all HVAC Controls work related to but not limited to VRF systems wiring, thermostats installation and wiring, sensors, and devices, etc.
Requirements:
Preconstruction
- Reviews controls drawings to gain a thorough understanding of controls scope and sequence of operations
- Reviews equipment submittals and installation manuals prior to buy-out
- Responsible for all aspects of HVAC controls coordination and installation between the project manager, subcontractor, and integration
- Identifies HVAC controls scope of work for each project (controls scope of work) and presents to the preconstruction team for evaluation and processing. Must include responsibility of each party, inclusions, and exclusions
- Assists sales and preconstruction in obtaining subcontractor quotes
- Identifies all accessories and confirms voltages required for secondary controls devices
- Assists project managers and preconstruction with buy-out, project review regarding controls scope of work
- Reviews life safety drawings for fire-smoke dampers sequence of operation coordination
- Reviews commercial kitchen drawings and identifies HVAC controls scope of work
Execution
- Travels between multiple jobsites
- Assists superintendents in controls scope of work commencement
- Assists subcontractors in learning the best practices for HVAC controls installation
- Daily completion of work orders in Vista
- Coordinates all installation schedules with project managers
- Assists project managers in managing subcontractors’ scope of work
- Evaluates the workload of subcontractors and reports to project managers
- Resolves customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction
- QC/QA is a major focus
- Inspects work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards
- Reduces warranty expenses through QC/QA best practices
- Works with the team on paperwork and required documentation
- Performs quality control jobsite walk-though visits to assist field superintendents and project managers in identifying controls and start-up related risks and help correct any installation errors or omissions
- Responsible for developing and maintaining quality control and quality assurance field forms and check lists
- Assists superintendents with identifying permanent power at major equipment like DOAS and VRF
- Maintains the highest levels of customer satisfaction and maintains relationships with all customers
- Assists in the implementation of new software programs, and tools as needed
- Communicates with HVAC start-up on project status and scheduling
- Resolves technical issues arising from gaps in the scope of work, changing field conditions and coordination between trades
- Assists subcontractors with resolving technical questions
- Works closely with project management on startups and warranty issues
- This role is not responsible for processing subcontractors pay apps, issuing task agreements or buy-out purchase orders
- This role is not responsible for subcontractors scheduling and only assists project managers as needed

- Experience with one or more of the following: Mitsubishi, Daikin, LG, and Samsung mini splits
- Experience with commercial application RTU’s, ERU’s, WSHP’s, VRF’s for install controls
- Proficient in Vista
Minimum Qualifications:
- A High School diploma or equivalent
- 8+ years of experience in the commercial HVAC industry
- An equivalent or combination of education (technical school) and experience is acceptable
- 5 + years of HVAC electrical/control install or BMS experience
- Master Electrician preferred
- Has basic hand tools to do the job
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
