Boston Baler & Hydraulics has an IMMEDIATE need for FULL TIME Field Service Technicians in the Northern NJ area. Company Truck and tools are provided. Experience with troubleshooting and repairing recycling equipment including, balers, shredders, conveyors, compactors or dock levelers is desired. Experience with electrical control wiring, Hydraulics and Pneumatics is necessary. Having Fabrication and/or welding skills is necessary.
We are looking for experienced and qualified service techs to conduct preventive maintenance, installations, and repairs at customer locations. Technician’s primary responsibilities include Installing equipment, troubleshooting, repairing, and training operators on balers and compactors and other equipment.
Required Skills:
- Must be able to read mechanical assembly drawings, electrical, and pneumatic schematics
- Must have proficient troubleshooting skills to identify common equipment problems within the electrical, pneumatic, steam, and hydraulic circuits
- Must be capable of using a volt meter and pressure flow gauges to review and validate circuit amperage, voltage, and pressure levels
- Must have a valid US issued driver’s license.
- Must have baler and compactor repair experience
- Maintain a service van and its inventory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good written/verbal communication and customer care skills.
- Able to read, write, speak and understand basic English
- Must be able to work independently without supervision
- Valid driver's license, and ability to safely operate lift trucks.
- Technical degree, previous lift truck repair, welding experience, and knowledge of various types of testing equipment preferred.
