Sosuite started in 2019 and now boasts over 250 bedrooms throughout Philadelphia. We are looking for a full-time Handyman to assist with standard apartment property maintenance at Sosuite! In addition to addressing issues related to plumbing, fixtures, furniture, appliances, and HVAC, you will also "onboard" new furnished apartments, getting them fully ready to rent. This is a great position for an entry-level individual with great attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Compensation & Benefits:
- W-2 full-time position, non-exempt
- Pay: $19 - $22 per hour, depending on experience
- Overtime pay: 1.5x on Sosuite's observed holidays (New Years, MLK Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas)

What you'll be doing at Sosuite:
- Work full-time (approximately 40 hours, 5 days per week), including every Saturday and Sunday
- Complete urgent maintenance tasks as assigned each day
- Paint apartments to keep them looking fresh - there will be a lot of painting!
- Onboard new apartments by assembling furniture, painting, wallpapering, installing fixtures furniture & electronics, testing appliances, hanging artwork, and similar.
- Technical Maintenance: Perform as-needed maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, broken and damaged furniture, furniture assembly, appliances, lock systems, fixtures, cabinets, and more
- Conduct preventative maintenance walkthroughs of apartments
- Perform occasional heavy labor including moving appliances and furniture up flights of stairs
- Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory for maintenance tools - deliveries, organization, ordering
- Hospitality Repairs: Respond to day-to-day hospitality issues, such as stain removal, light bulb replacement, WiFi connectivity, guest access issues, battery replacement, and more
- Use several mobile applications on your phone to communicate with the team, coordinate tasks, track your work, schedule your own days, etc.
What you need to be successful:
- 1+ years of general handyman and maintenance experience
- Your own tools
- Use of a personal vehicle and valid Driver's License (+proof of insurance) required (mileage reimbursed)
- Experience with, or willingness to learn about, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, internet, smart locks, and similar technical skills
- Very comfortable using a computer and smartphone applications
- Ability to self-direct and stay highly organized
- Ability to take initiative and own maintenance projects from end to end
- Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel, bend, and stay on your feet all day
- Positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively both in a team environment as well as independently
- Versatile and eager - you enjoy being on the move
- Ability to lift, push, and pull required loads, including furniture and appliances
