This licensed journeyman Plumber position exists to troubleshoot, repair, replace, rebuild, install, test, inspect and design steam, condensate, plumbing, fire protection and mechanical piping systems to maintain proper building operations.
Primary Duties Include:

Perform plumbing and steam piping related tasks which include preventative maintenance, repair and installation of plumbing and steam systems as a fully functional journeyman plumber.

Repairing plumbing leaks, drips and clogs.

Guide Pipe/Mechanical Trade I positions with repairs and installation of plumbing and steam piping systems.

Investigate, repair and report unusual equipment conditions such as excessive water temperatures, leaking and worn equipment, and unusual equipment noises.

Collect required information for equipment lists and parts lists to repair plumbing related equipment.

Complete required paperwork including recording work order tasks, and labor activities.

Prepare drawings and material lists for upcoming projects.

Complete the required information on work orders, test reports, and purchase requests.

Review new construction drawings or revisions to existing systems insuring campus standards and applicable codes are being met.

Communicates both verbally and in writing with the unit supervisor and others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Only:
Three years of experience performing plumbing and steam piping related tasks which included preventative maintenance, repair and installation of plumbing and steam systems AND possession of a current, journey-level plumber license issued by the State of Colorado. You must submit a copy of your license with your application for full consideration.
Must possess excellent customer service skills to include communicating with and responding to all levels of employees in a professional environment. Computer experience and use of a computerized work order system is necessary for performing administrative functions of the job.
OR Education and Experience:
A combination of related education, formalized apprenticeship program, and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to three (3) years.
(Appropriate education or successful completion of a formalized apprenticeship program will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis for the general experience but not for the specific experience.)
YOU MUST PROVIDE AN UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT IN ORDER TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THIS SUBSTITUTION.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year service plumbing experience
- Familiarity with the International Building Code, International Mechanical Code, National Electric Code, National Fire Protection Agency, National Swimming Pool Foundation and International Plumbing Code
- One year of drain cleaning experience
- ASSE Cross Connection Tester License
- Experience using Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word
Necessary Special Requirements
- Pre-Employment screenings including background check, physical and drug screenings.
- A current Colorado Driver License is required and must be maintained during employment.
- Must be physically able to perform strenuous physical labor including lifting up to 100 pounds
