Facilities Engineer
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 (Based on experience)
Position Summary:
Maintain and repair building machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing and electrical systems for the Casino. Performs all duties assigned in accordance with all applicable legal regulations and requirements, presenting oneself as an asset to the Hollywood Park Casino and encouraging others to do the same.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with all guests and employees and follow through on all written and verbal instructions.
- Visually inspect, test machinery and equipment; troubleshoot problems and repair machine, as needed.
- Disassemble defective machines and equipment and install new and or repaired parts.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of building equipment and machinery.
- Install, maintain and repair electrical infrastructure such as low voltage transformers, wiring, electrical and electronic components of building machinery and equipment.
- Set up, use and operate shop machine equipment, hand tools used in preventive and routine maintenance of facility.
- Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions and other wooden structures.
- Understand, maintain and operate life safety systems, lighting control systems and building management systems used to facilitate HVAC/R and other building components.
- Support IT with AV systems and internal gaming equipment related to operations.
- Clean and maintain work areas and shops in good condition at all times.
- Know and understand company and departmental policies and procedures and position procedures.
- Report and address safety concerns to supervisor immediately.
- Completes daily production logs and all work order generated materials to include other duties as assigned by leads, supervisors and upper management.
- Report any issues with timekeeping immediately to supervisor. Utilize and complete company issued forms to track and or edit timekeeping related issues as needed.
- Adhere to all department, Human Resources and Safety policies and procedures.
- Must use and maintain all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when preforming any duties related to work activity. Inform Supervisor when additional PPE is needed for specific assignment and or is in need of replacement
- Adhere to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Qualifications, Experience, Education:
- Must be 21 years of age or older to apply.
- Technical degree or trade certifications preferred. EPA Universal Certification is a plus.
- Must be able to pass background screening and obtain a valid work permit before entering this position.
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Must have facility maintenance and engineering experience
- Must possess a high regard for Customer Service and Team Member relations.
- Ability to adapt well to the Casino environment that involves large numbers of people as well as loud and continuous high noise levels.
- Demonstrates Flexibility -- able to change schedule or locations within the Casino as required to meet the needs of the departments.
- Must be able to work any shift and any day of the week, including weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Ability to work under pressure and be detail oriented.
- Duties for this position require moderate physical exertion, such as sitting/walking at will, standing/sitting for long periods, lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling objects, crouching/kneeling, bending, reaching, , twisting, close vision, color/depth perception, hearing sounds/communication, and handling/grasping/fingering equipment. Safety precautions must be used at all times to avoid injury to oneself and others.
