Job Summary
The Industrial Hygiene Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of employees by identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards. This position requires a proactive approach to occupational health and environmental safety, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a commitment to fostering a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement industrial hygiene programs that comply with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards related to chemical exposure, noise, ergonomics, and other workplace conditions.
- Perform root cause analysis for incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee the training development for employees on safety practices, emergency response procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Prepare detailed reports on findings from inspections, assessments, and investigations related to occupational health.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation of environmental health and safety (EHS) initiatives.
- Stay updated on workers' compensation laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all safety programs.
- Manage the fabrication of necessary equipment or modifications needed to improve workplace safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of workers' compensation law and regulations.
- Proven experience in industrial hygiene practices and EHS management.
- Strong skills in report writing and documentation for compliance purposes.
- Certification in CPR is preferred.
- Familiarity with EPA regulations concerning environmental health is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and educate staff effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for conducting thorough assessments.
