We are growing and looking to hire a new HVAC Technician/Installer Apprentice.
Responsibilities
HVAC apprentice duties may include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with the installation of new HVAC systems, including ductwork, ventilation, and air conditioning units to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks on heating and air conditioning systems in residential homes and commercial buildings such as cleaning coils, and changing filters.
- Ability to learn the following: utilization of diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems accurately, brazing, pressurizing, vacuuming systems, troubleshooting electrical components, low and high voltage issues, gas furnaces, heat pumps, and first company systems.
- Ability to learn how to repair HVAC systems by replacing defective components, such as capacitors, contactors, transformers, compressors, motors, and thermostats.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Positive and enthusiastic.
- Demonstrate confidence with customer interfacing/social skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Collaborate with colleagues to complete installations, repairs, and maintenance activities efficiently.
- Ability to handle physical tasks, and learn in a fast paced and demanding environment.
- Maintain communication with your lead, dispatch, your manager, and the team as a whole.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
Minimum Qualifications
- No experience necessary; We will train you and you will have opportunities to grow.
- Able to regularly work 40+ hours per week, generally 8-5 Monday-Friday. Having flexibility to work earlier / later is a plus.
- Able to work long hours in the heat.
- Able to climb ladders and work in small spaces (attics).
- Have and maintain a driver’s license with a good driving record and be insurable by the Company’s insurance carrier
- Able to pass a drug test and background check.
- Have or be able to acquire your own basic tools.
- Reliable transportation to a central meeting point each morning, usually in Scottsdale, AZ.
Compensation
- $18-$25 per hour based on experience.
- Regular overtime opportunities available; especially during the summer.
- Bonus opportunity of $400 per month starting after 3 months of employment.
Benefits
- 40 hours paid sick time; paid out at the end of the year as overtime if not taken.
- 40 hours of paid vacation; paid out at the end of the year if not taken.
- Paid Holidays: New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
- Due to the seasonal nature of our business, we often have to work Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day. However, double time will be offered for those that are scheduled to work those days.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 50 per week
