Shift Schedule: M-F - 6am-4:30pm
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe, and electrical systems under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and Manager. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, technical proficiency, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair various systems to ensure the smooth operation of our production facility while adhering to rigorous maintenance standards.
Duties + Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe, and electrical systems.
- Ensure the smooth operation of machinery and equipment in the industrial manufacturing facility.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and other system issues and implement effective solutions.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks to prevent downtime and optimize equipment performance.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and other team members to address maintenance needs and priorities.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Document maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Utilize information from supervisors, machine operators, and other maintenance team members to investigate, diagnose, and repair machine operation variations and malfunctioning machinery.
- Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, performing repairs as needed.
- Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
- Set up and operate machine tools such as a lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
- Visually inspect and test machinery, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery and equipment following preventative maintenance procedures.
- Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
- Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
- Enter daily labor record on timecard.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business requirements and applicable skills and abilities.

Maintenance Technician III
- Description: This position involves maintaining industrial machinery and equipment using various tools and equipment, including hoists, lift trucks, and power tools. Responsibilities include moving, assembling, installing, and dismantling machinery, as well as interpreting schematic diagrams and blueprints to analyze plans for new equipment. The role also entails troubleshooting and repairing machinery, potentially using equipment like forklifts, aerial lifters, and cranes for heavy machinery. Additionally, tasks such as welding, fabrication, or calibration may be required. Safety compliance is essential, and the position typically requires a high school diploma, with potential certification in OSHA Forklift Operation. As a senior-level role, the employee works independently within established procedures, having gained proficiency in multiple relevant competencies, typically with 3-5 years of related experience.

- Years of Experience: 3 – 5 years
- Education: High school diploma or its equivalent is required, along with either an Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or completion of a certificate program preferred.
- Certifications + Licenses: Certification as an OSHA Forklift Operator; successful completion of a recognized industrial maintenance program or equivalent apprenticeship; additional certifications in specialized fields such as HVAC, electrical systems, or welding.
Maintenance Technician IV
- Description: This role involves maintaining industrial machinery and equipment using a variety of tools and equipment, including hoists, lift trucks, and power tools. Responsibilities include moving, assembling, installing, and dismantling machinery, as well as interpreting schematic diagrams and blueprints to analyze plans for new equipment. The specialist troubleshoots problems and repairs or replaces worn or broken parts as necessary, potentially using equipment like forklifts, aerial lifters, and cranes for heavy machinery. Tasks such as welding, fabrication, or calibration may also be required. Safety compliance is essential, and the position typically requires a high school diploma, with potential certification in OSHA Forklift Operation. As a specialist, the employee works independently within established procedures, having gained full proficiency in a broad range of job-related activities, typically with 5-7 years of related experience.
- Level: Expert (IV)
- Years of Experience: 5 – 7 years
- Education: High school diploma or its equivalent is required, along with either an Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or completion of a certificate program preferred.
- Certifications + Licenses: Certification as an OSHA Forklift Operator; successful completion of a recognized industrial maintenance program or equivalent apprenticeship; advanced certifications in specialized fields such as PLC programming, advanced electrical systems, or mechanical engineering.
Requirements:
Experience + Skills
- Four (4) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing machinery and equipment.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance techniques and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Certification or training in specific areas such as welding, electrical systems, or HVAC.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Proficient in shop math with the ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and use a calculator.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to logically solve technical problems with minimal supervision.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or certificate, preferred.
- Completion of a recognized industrial maintenance or equivalent apprenticeship program, preferred.
Physical Demands + Work Environment
- The employee must be able to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds and work comfortably in a noisy and potentially hazardous industrial environment. Additionally, they should be capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods. During job duties, the employee may also need to sit, stoop, kneel, climb, or balance occasionally. They must frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds and may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and a risk of electrical shock. There is occasional exposure to high, precarious places, and specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment often features loud noise levels due to moving mechanical parts.
