Eaton’s CPDI PDI division is currently seeking a Electrical Test Technician - 2nd Shift. The Richmond, VA site specifically focuses in on cirtical power distibution for multiple segments; those including Utitlites, Data Centers, Hospitality, and Commercial Instiutions. The Electrical Test Technician on 2nd shift offers a 40-hour paid week with hours being from 3:30pm-12:00am, full benefits, and 401K match plan.
The hourly rate for this position is $24.96 per hour.

This position will be responsible for testing and/or modifying electrical equipment post-production, prior to shipment to customers. It will also be responsible for inspecting product functions and monitoring test procedures.
In this function you will:
- Perform system tests, including IR and dielectric testing, and complete written test reports, logs and records
- Troubleshoot electrical problems in complex systems
- Troubleshoot AC/DC circuitry and printed circuit assemblies to the component level
- Assemble, set-up programs and perform functional tests on circuit boards
- Organize work by receiving work requests; studying wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
- Testing systems and electrical components; determining cause of problems and requirements to solve problems
- Use test equipment including digital meter, current meter, out of phase transformer, variac transformer resistive load bank, hi-pot tester, current clamp, computer, and infrared camera
- Maintain safe work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations and codes
Required (Basic):
- High School Diploma or GED required from an accredited educational institution
- 1-3 years of experience in electrical test or related electronic technologies field, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates in the immediate geographical area (50 mile radius) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred:
- Associates degree in electronics or electrical engineering technology
- Prior training with electrical equipment and testing procedures Read and understand one-line drawings, wire lists, and schematics
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Understanding of delta-wye 3 phase transformer and resistive load bank technology
- May be required to sit, stand and walk on a regular basis.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds throughout work shift.
- May be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, push and/or pull.
