Techno is seeking an Electrical Inspector to join our project team at Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, NJ. In this role, you will provide inspection services associated with Aeronautical electrical work. The ideal candidate will have experience in lighting systems, 5kV systems, electrical substation/regulator work, high tension work, Fiber Optic communication infrastructure systems, fire alarm systems and other electrical based work.
Job Description:
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written, verbal communication includes contract staff, Resident Engineer, facility staff both in person and via two-way communications.
- Ability to read plans and specs and prepare written contract administration documentation such as daily narratives (work reports), controlled inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work.
- Identify potential extra work issues and keep Resident Engineer advised of issues. Prepare estimates of extra work.
- Prepare related sketches and documentation. Review plans for constructability and prepare comments.
- Review contractor payment requests and recommend reasonableness to the Resident Engineer.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5-years’ experience inspecting electrical construction work, varied in size (projects ranging from $500K to $5 million plus) and complexity (multiple crews and crew sizes per shift).
- Ability to pass a SWAC Background Check at High Level.
- Valid Driver's license required.
- Night and weekend shifts are required.
- Trained in fall protection, trench excavation, confined space and permit required confined space OSHA regulations and 30-hr OSHA construction safety training.
- Any associated Electrical Certifications.
