POSITION SUMMARY
Ensure the safety of team members and customers. Manage staff to achieve project deadlines, quality, and budget. Work closely with customers and team to maximize customer satisfaction. Maximize team effectiveness through efficient scheduling, keeping the team focused and delivering the highest quality.
HIGH PAYOFF ACTIVITIES
Ensure Safety of Team Members and Customers
- Make safety a priority in work-related decisions.
- Identify and address safety violations. Use it as a teaching tool.
- Identify and address hazardous conditions on the job. Maintain a clean and organized jobsite.
Manage Staff to Achieve Project Budget
- Ensure predesign is collaborated with field crews for correct installations to reduce rework.
- Schedule material orders and gear/fixture releases to arrive in accordance with 4-week task planning schedule.
- Daily review of completed task and units installed in accordance with production rates and 4-week schedule, e.g., weekly cost codes production units and hrs.
- Review submittal packages to ensure correct planning for rough and trim.
- Participate in pre-construction meeting with Project Manager and Superintendent.
- Review job plans/specs with Project Manager and Superintendent, i.e., job lay-out, equipment and manpower.
- Ensure change order (COR) information gets to Project Manager by end of shift and only proceed with written Project Manager approval.
Manage Staff to Achieve Project Quality Control & Assurance
- Evaluate manpower skill sets and participate in performance discussions with GF/Superintendent.
- Develop installation crews to maximize installation efficiency and minimize quality control mistakes.
- Verify installations meet requirements for quality, timeliness, and code per Architect/Designer & AHJ.
- Ensure installation matches request for information (RFI) responses, SKE directives, and delta revisions.
Maximize Customer Satisfaction and Project Deadlines
- Identify general contractors’ major tasks for next week, i.e., 7-day look ahead.
- Draft crew and sub crew lists weekly for major tasks using K2 current 4-week schedule and whiteboard process.
- Coordinate 4-week schedule with general contractor and other trades and advise / document of conflicts immediately.
- Support prefab utilization to increase consistency and reduce field specific labor needs.
- Issue written RFI immediately upon discovery of project conflict or discrepancy.
- Maintain clear friendly relationships with outward entities: inspectors, clients, employees, and future clients.
Maximize Team Efficiency
- Clarify directives of product installation based on engineered drawings and internal design.
- Audit product installations - identify new and old efficiencies and relay suggested ideas for improvement to superintendent.
- Participate in minimum of 32 hours continuing education related to leadership and track certificates.
- Coach field employees for correction, speed, and efficiency.
OTHER TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Timely submission of miscellaneous paperwork to administrative team members
- Coordination with HR on items related to crew members on your site
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Proficient computer skills, MS office, PlanGrid, DocuSign, Electronic scheduling, & must have good command of the English language - verbal and written
- Must have good trade & NEC knowledge
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Team player with good customer and people skills
- Ability to read blueprints and other technical materials, both hard copy and electronic
- Ability to use and train hand tools and power tools proficiently.
- Proficient in the use and training of test meters and other diagnostic equipment
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be proficient training & bending conduit ½” – 2”
- Skilled and proficient at training & running conduit ½” – 4”
- Able to inspect and couch the setting of switchgear, panels & other distribution equipment
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least 5 years of commercial/industrial electrical experience
- At least 6 months of field supervisor experience
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach over head – all for extended periods of time
- Must be willing to work both indoors and out at all times of the year
- Able to Climb ladders (all types) and work from scaffolds and lifts.
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 51 pounds unassisted
