Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned apartment maintenance professional with high-level apartment maintenance skills to join our Roving Maintenance team! The Roving Maintenance Technician will support all Aeon properties with general maintenance, apartment turnovers and all aspects of the physical operations of our apartment communities. This includes the responsibility to ensure that Aeon standards are met in each of the following areas: preventative maintenance, general maintenance and repair, safety and security, physical condition, market appeal, customer service promises, and utility conservation standards. The Roving Maintenance Technician will report to the Roving Maintenance Supervisor.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned by performing a wide variety of general maintenance and repair functions including:
- Plumbing
- Electrical
- Appliance repair
- Air handler and general HVAC maintenance
- Lock changes
- Apartment turnovers
- Preventative maintenance
- Installation and repair of window coverings, doors, cabinets, light fixtures, etc;
Skills & Qualifications
- Must have proven knowledge and experience in all areas of general maintenance.
- Must have demonstrated high-level skills in apartment maintenance.
- Ability to engage in interpersonal communication that is culturally responsive, ensuring consideration for differing needs and expectations.
- Must be a resourceful, problem solving, relationship-building, seeker of excellence.
- Must have a commitment to learning and participating in Aeon's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
- Demonstrated a prideful work ethic and commitment to being a team player.
- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and vehicle insurance.
- Own basic tools.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, bend and kneel for extended periods of time.
- Ability to complete daily tours between properties including but not limited to inspecting grounds, common areas, hallways, stairwells, and apartment homes.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to reach above and below the shoulders.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist and pull.
- Ability to withstand external weather conditions such as working outside in the rain, cold, heat or other adverse weather.
- Ability to quickly respond to sights and sounds that may pose a threat to persons or property.
Compensation, Work Hours & Location
This full-time hourly position offers $27-$31/hr. Aeon offers an impressive benefits package for full-time employees which includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, retirement plan, generous paid time off and an employee assistance program. Typical work hours for our Roving Maintenance team are Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm with some flexibility to accommodate the needs of the position and the staff person. Our Maintenance Technicians have No On-Call! This position will work in-person, onsite at Aeon properties, with occasional work at Aeon's Central Office and off-site training and meeting facilities.
