Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Apprentice Electrician to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the electrical field while working under the guidance of experienced electricians. The Apprentice Electrician will assist in various electrical tasks on construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform electrical work.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to electrical installations.
- Conduct tests using voltmeters and ohmmeters to ensure proper functionality of electrical systems.
- Participate in high voltage installations and maintenance under supervision, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area on construction sites to promote safety and efficiency.
- Follow all safety regulations and practices while working on-site, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; completion of an electrical training program is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and components is preferred; experience as an industrial or commercial electrician is a nice-to-have.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other related equipment is essential.
- Ability to work effectively on construction sites, demonstrating teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn from experienced electricians and take direction while developing skills in the field.
- Must be physically capable of performing tasks that require standing for long periods, lifting materials up to 50 pounds, and working in various weather conditions.
