Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Richmond, VA. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working hands-on, solving maintenance challenges, and providing exceptional service to both residential and commercial clients. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing repairs, maintenance tasks, and ensuring the overall upkeep of the properties we manage.
- General Maintenance: Perform routine repairs and upkeep tasks such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting in both residential and commercial settings.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues as they arise.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections to ensure systems are functioning efficiently and prevent potential issues.
- Work Orders: Complete work orders in a timely manner, ensuring high-quality service and minimal disruption to tenants.
- Customer Service: Interact with clients professionally and courteously, addressing maintenance concerns promptly and effectively.
- Documentation: Accurately document all maintenance activities, including repairs and inspections, for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in general property maintenance or related fields.
- Skills: Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to address a variety of maintenance issues.
- Customer-Focused: Excellent communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform manual labor for extended periods.
- Valid Driver’s License: Reliable transportation to travel between job sites is required.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or after-hours for emergency repairs.
- HVAC experience or certifications.
- Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations.
- EPA Certification (for handling refrigerants) is a plus.
- Experience with property management systems or software.
