Facilities Maintenance Technician

Summary:
As a member of our Housing and Maintenance team, Everas Facilities Technicians are responsible to perform routine building and housing maintenance at our locations throughout NJ. This work includes light carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, general cleaning, landscaping, vehicle maintenance, and safety assurance. Your handy skills and passion for home maintenance and quality DIY projects will be put to daily use in this position, along with strong problem solving and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. As a member of the Everas team, your work contributes to improving the quality of life of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Facility Technician Duties include but are not limited to:
- Complete general maintenance duties including but not limited to painting, moving, coordinating deliveries of furniture and assembly, ensuring landscaping is maintained
- Complete maintenance and safety checklists; ensure hazard free environment and vehicles and equipment are in good repair
- Coordinate or perform electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance, and equipment repairs
- Monitor electronic maintenance requests system and manage requests

Job Requirements:
- Minimum age, 18
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
- Driver’s license with no more than two moving violations within three years
- Criminal background check and drug screening
- Physical including tuberculosis screening
- Mandatory orientation and professional skills training at agency headquarters in Somerset, NJ
- Basic computer skills
- Strong interpersonal communication, problem solving, and cooperative teamwork skills
- Willingness to meet NJ Executive Order 252, which requires employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including a booster; at minimum one dose is required to begin employment with the expectation to complete subsequent doses as per recommended time frames; this requirement may be waived only in exceptional circumstances as outlined in the law.
