ENTRY LEVEL ELECTRICIANS / LABORERS JOB SUMMARY
Works with Field personnel to ensure proper cable pulling, and installations of electrical equipment in roadway, under bridges, and construction zones.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installs and monitors performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement.
- Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
- Troubleshoots and repairs primary distribution system malfunctions such as ground fault tracing and cable replacement.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Reads electrical panel schedules and schematic plan sets.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS
- Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
- Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
- Working outdoors on and around roadways, under bridges, and in active construction zones.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- CDL Class A License
- A minimum of 3 year(s) similar construction and electrical experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Experience with electronics/computers/networking.
- Basic computer skills (CAD, MS PROJECT, EXCEL, WORD, etc).
- Experience with state Department of Transportation Experience is a plus.
- Basic computer/office skills
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
- Must pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Test
- Must demonstrate eligibility to work in U.S.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is a requirement for this job.
