Job Summary
FMFL Facilities, LLC & Redbud Roots, Inc. is looking for a Commercial HVAC Mechanic to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will perform a multitude of duties as specified by the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Commercial HVAC Mechanic will install, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems among all facilities, as well as implementing and maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule.
Role Responsibilities
- Ensure all spaces including Flower Rooms are hitting tolerances set by facility management.
- Maintain HVAC units in commercial or industrial buildings.
- Maintain ductwork and thermostats to control HVAC system.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure they operate properly.
- Inspect and troubleshoot problems with existing HVAC units.
- Maintain replacement parts on existing HVAC units.
- Maintain inventory of replacement parts and orders replacements.
- Comply with company and industry safety standards.
- Flexibility to work overtime, on-call, and weekends as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 10+ years’ experience in commercial HVAC service and installation.
- Ability to pass a background check required.
- HVAC Certification required.
- EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
- MI Mechanical License preferred.
- Aaon equiptment experience preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent Electrical diagnostic skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to use power and hand tools safely and correctly.
- Ability to use and read accurately thermometers, pressure gauges, and other testing devices to evaluate HVAC system.
- Ability to read operation and repair manuals for HVAC systems.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with contractors.
- Self-motivated to complete assigned tasks within time constraints.
- Driven to succeed and able to work with minimum supervision.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to climb a ladder up to roof height.
- Must be able to bend, lift, stretch and kneel.
- Must be able to perform in a warehouse setting as well as a variety of weather conditions.
