Journeyman Electrician
Scope of work:
Work consists of installation, alteration, additions, and/or repairs of electrical systems. Documenting, communicating, and submitting project information daily. Being responsible and performing daily training for apprentices while working safely.
Schedule: Normal work week is Monday – Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. This position may require nighttime, weekend, holiday, and overtime work.
Responsibilities
- Well versed with the associated materials, equipment, and tools within the electrical industry.
- Must be organized, plan and coordinate work ahead of time.
- Read blueprints, job specifications, and equipment directives.
- Effectively manage each task by ensuring that all materials, tools, equipment, and job information are on the jobsite ahead of time.
- Communicate with vendors, engineers, owners, service managers and other contractors to assure jobs are completed within scope and within budget.
- Treat client with highest degree of respect and work to develop a partnership environment.
- Work as a team member by assisting others when needed.
- Be neat and have a process-oriented effective work style.
- Be efficient with your time and materials while ensuring top quality electrical installations.
- Ability to communicate effectively and provide directive, and project information to coworkers, subcontractors, and equipment providers.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining all tools. Misuse or abuse of equipment will not be tolerated.
- Attention to detail and handle every client request with professionalism.
- Estimate the general amount of time and material to complete service tasks, considering the needs and manpower requirements.
- Troubleshooting of all electrical systems
- Provide daily reports, job pictures, and complete work order forms correctly.
Position requirements
- Current TX electrical journeyman license or masters license.
- Minimum of 5 years documented field work in the industrial and/or commercial industry or completion of 4 years of an electrical apprenticeship program.
- Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Possess a GED, High School diploma or college degree.
· Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
· Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

· Employee’s personal weight and personal tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladder. (Class 1 -250lbs, Class 2 – 300 lbs.)

- Climb ladders (all types), scaffolding, stairs, and onto equipment.
- Hand digging and running trenchers, excavators, skid steers, skyjacks and other equipment on occasion.
Working Conditions:
· Position requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, and snow.
· Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns)
· Position requires employees to always have the required personal tools with them.
· Perform work at various heights, up to 90’, from on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, or in trenches and excavated work areas.
· Work in restricted areas (switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, trenches, and attics.)
· Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs) at all times as required by task, respirator when required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $29.00 - $39.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
