Position Title: Ammonia Refrigeration Technician

Jones Networking is recruiting for Ammonia Refrigeration Technicians in Sterling, VA. This position requires extensive knowledge operating, testing, troubleshooting and repairing ammonia refrigeration systems, boiler, hot water systems, glycol and compressed air systems. Basic knowledge of General Maintenance and Electrical and Electronic Systems are also required. The associate must be able to work in a team environment, or individually with little or no supervision. Must comply with all company safety rules (Lockout / Tagout, etc.), Good Manufacturing Practices GMP’s, and all Process Safety Management - PSM - regulations.
Education / Experience Summary:
-Minimum two years of ammonia refrigeration experience in an industrial refrigeration environment.
-Ability to pass respirator fit test and Pulmonary function test as well as 24-hour hazmat class.
-Ammonia Certification from GCAP or RETA is required.
-EPA Type II certification is required.
Ammonia Refrigeration Operator Summary:
-Operation, testing, troubleshooting and repair of the ammonia refrigeration system, its sub-systems and all auxiliary processes and/or equipment related to the operation of the refrigeration system.
-Operation, testing, troubleshooting and repair of boiler and hot water systems, their sub-systems and all auxiliary equipment related to the operation of the boiler and/or hot water systems.
-Perform refrigeration, HVAC, boiler and hot water system PM’s.
-Maintain the material integrity of the engine and utility rooms in accordance with established best practices.
-Rebuild ammonia, HVAC, boiler, and hot water system components in accordance with technical manuals.
-Must be able to perform ammonia system pump downs for repairing valves, etc.
-Complete all applicable documentation in performance of and as required by the job including but not limited to: PSM-related modifications or changes, Work Orders (WO’s), refrigeration system operation notes, and as deemed necessary by upper management.
-Adhere to all company policies to include: safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
-Daily rounds and inspections of Temperatures and Condition of Ammonia System.
-Perform chemical tests on boilers as well as condenser towers.
-Operate and maintain chill water, glycol, compressed air and related equipment.
