ES2 is seeking an HVAC Controls team member to join our growing team of trade professionals. Responsible for hardware, database and graphical checkout using ES2’s established standards for building automation control systems to meet the intent of the project requirements. Provide proper technical checkout and control of equipment installed as specified by the contract documents.
JOB SUMMARY
Customer Relations

Safety
- Learn and follow company and OSHA safety guidelines. Identify, avoid, and report safety hazards.
- Inspect and maintain all company provided tools and materials.
- Remain knowledgeable and compliant with corporate policies, procedures, and paperwork.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area.
- Knows how to safely operate all power tools, hand tools, and instruments necessary for job completion.
Quality Control
- Monitor the quality of installation and wiring on equipment and report as needed to the Project Manager.
Professional Image and Development
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while remaining punctual and generally helpful.
- Remain knowledgeable and compliant with corporate policies, procedures, and paperwork.
- Keep team members informed of strategic action plans and initiatives.
Technical & Job Site Responsibilities
- Competent and capable of maintaining basic computer requirements and continuum. Perform equipment check-out, calibration of control systems.
- Performs checkout of VAVs, FCUs, Exh Fans, Unit Heaters and any other miscellaneous equipment on the job site.
- Conduct small logic changes: design CFMs, correct flow calibration numbers, tune PID loops.
- Work with TAB / Commissioning contractor on misc. equipment i.e. VAVs, FCUs.
- Properly address and change appropriate jumpers on all control modules.
- Perform network communication and trouble shoot communication errors.
- Monitor technical labor to meet job requirements and keeps management apprised of job progress and all pertinent facts concerning the job.
- Fills out daily progress reports.
- Able to update drawings and forward records of equipment for as-built documentation.
- Follow company processes to track and submit accurate timekeeping records.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENT
- Capable of safely working in a construction environment, including the ability to lift, push, or move up to 50 pounds without assistance, as well as the ability to climb, kneel, squat, or work at high altitudes or in confined spaces in order to deliver the scope of work.
- Can work in adverse weather conditions.
- Be prepared for a changing work environment during the course of a work shift.
- Available to work overtime, varied shift hours, and out of town when needed.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, verbally and in writing, with a variety of stakeholders and contexts, including conflict resolution.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving records, be free of any felony convictions, and be able to pass federal background checks as required to work on secure government facilities.
- Demonstrate general capabilities in maintaining computer requirements and continuum.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Possess a creative approach for generating new ideas.
- Good team building skills.
- Introductory position, experience and education not required.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED equalant.
Starting pay will be based on experience.
