Major Responsibilities and duties:
- Ability to perform all phases of commercial sprinkler work related to new/existing building construction and equipment moves, adds and changes.
- Assign duties and inspects work of helper/s.
- Ensure proper safety training and code compliance for assignment/contract.
- Provide on the job training and development of subordinates.
- Streamline work processes and work cooperatively with Manager and subordinates to provide high quality work and service.
- Other related job duties, as assigned
- Demonstrate knowledge of (NFPA-13) National Fire Protection Association Code.
- Ability to interpret and read instructions, technical documentation, blueprints, and schematics.
- Skilled in safe operation of and application of sprinkler tools to include threading machine, roll groover, drills, test pump and pipe wrenches among other necessary tools to perform the job.
- Install risers, mains, branch lines; layout and prep; install and troubleshooting.
- Follow and comply with lock-out/tag-out and safety procedures per company and site requirements.
- Diagnose and resolve problems in sprinkler systems and equipment using test instruments and troubleshooting equipment.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time, with an occasional need to stoop or kneel and to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to work at heights and climb ladders.
- Ability to work long hours, with exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
- Mandatory use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or equivalent desired but not required.
- 5+ years of commercial sprinkler experience.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
