Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician supports the general maintenance and repair of the facility, ensuring that all systems operate smoothly and efficiently. This position covers a range of trades, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and carpentry. The technician will perform routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and assist with repairs under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Repairs: Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of building systems, equipment, and facilities to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues and report more complex problems to the Maintenance Manager for resolution.
- Work Orders: Complete assigned work orders promptly, ensuring tasks are done to standard.
- Safety Protocols: Follow safety procedures when handling tools, equipment, and hazardous materials; ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Assistance with Projects: Support larger maintenance and facility improvement projects as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and maintain maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment in good working order.
- Collaboration: Work with other team members and departments to ensure the smooth functioning of facility operations.
- Landscaping: Cut grass and perform various groundskeeping tasks.
- Clean-up: Cleans up after work is completed and also walks the premises to clean up trash and debris that are on the property.
Required Skills:
- Basic knowledge in multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
- Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of general maintenance experience preferred, or completion of a technical training program.
- Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Familiarity with basic tools and equipment used in maintenance work.
- Certification in one or more trades is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in various physical conditions, including standing, walking, climbing ladders, and bending for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in different environments, such as confined spaces or at heights.
Work Environment:
This position may involve working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. The Maintenance Technician may be required to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, based on the needs of the facility. Working On-Call will be required.
