A Brief Overview
The Cold Storage Maintenance Technician is a core member of the Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) Division and supports the initiatives of Employee Health & Safety (EHS) and Emergency Management Administration Department in the management of services to maintain medical grade Cold Storage devices. This is achieved through the effective use of the UH Medical Equipment Management Plan. Performs a variety of routine tasks with assessment for replacement, installation, scheduled maintenance, calibration and repair of medical grade refrigerators, and cryogenic/general freezers and associated components, including liquid and/or gaseous cryogenic supply systems under minimal supervision of the HTM Supervisor or senior professionals. What You Will Do
Assesses, monitors, and functionalizes inventory management to ensure appropriate technology information and associated data attributes are captured to ensure effective business operations of services.
Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance and inspection on cryogenic freezers and other medical grade freezers and refrigerators in accordance with the manufacturer instructions for use.
Assist and Coordinate with information technology, responsible parties and stakeholders to determine the need and setup of temperature monitoring devices, and alarm management protocols.
Respond to requested service as appropriate per assigned priority. Perform analysis of issues and determine plan of action to resolve and coordinate appropriate actions to remedy issues.
Participate in emergency response drills.
Assist clinical departments in the Capital Replacement Planning process.
Documents all activities as outlined within UH policies and procedures.
Collaborate with business unit and call center for dispatch and closed loop communication. Additional Responsibilities

Education
High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and
Two years of post-graduate technical classes or work experience (Preferred) Work Experience
3+ years Troubleshooting and maintaining refrigeration equipment. (Required) or
3+ years Experience working with Original Equipment Manufacturer. (Required) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Possesses basic understanding and skills related to general electromechanical systems and devise. (Required proficiency)
Basic Electronics and/or Electro-mechanical knowledge; (Required proficiency)
General information Technology System Knowledge (Computer Repair, Application Installation, Networking, and security mitigation); (Required proficiency)
Administrative and documentation skills. (Required proficiency)
Exhibits a basic understanding of refrigeration systems, including regulators, solenoids, check valves, and pressure relief devices. (Required proficiency)
Familiar with the operations and environment to ensure a safe environment is attained (Required proficiency)
Provides timely communication to clinical users on the status of their technology. (Required proficiency)
General understanding of compliance with local and national regulatory requirements. (Required proficiency)
Able to effectively communicate and solve customer service issues. (Required proficiency)
Understanding of documentation requirements for maintaining and repairing equipment and performs actions as assigned. (Required proficiency)
