M AINTENANCE-1 ST SHIFT
TITLE: Maintenance Technician
REPORTS TO : Maintenance supervisor
I. PURPOSE : To minimize or eliminate lost production time due to equipment or building failures. Provide assistance needed in promoting a safe and pleasant work environment.
- DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES :
A. Perform scheduled machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, and replacing work-out parts.
B. Provide immediate assistance to the Engineering Manager/Operations Manager for all machine repair emergencies.
C. Perform non-emergency machine repair by replacing or rebuilding broken or worn-out parts.
D. Fabricate new parts and assemblies which will improve machine operation and be cost effective.
E. General building maintenance and repair.
F. Responsible for proper maintenance/repair of Forklifts and thermal Oxidizer.
A. Comprehension of the mechanical functions of equipment, sub-assemblies and parts. Ability to identify causes of failure and eliminate these causes. Ability to dismantle machines makes repairs, reassemble machines, and make all necessary adjustments for operation.
B. Good knowledge of setting-up and operating metal working machines i.e., drill press, milling machine, band saw, lathe, etc, ; and manual skill in using standard hand tools.
C. Experience in carpentry; use of woodworking hand tools; pipe-fitting and soldering; knowledge of basic electric circuits for AC and DC power; and the use of t esting instruments.
