Get paid to go to school and start your new career in Appliance Repair with Yale Appliance today!
Why Appliance Repair?
- No longer taught in schools, it's a growing industry full of opportunity.
- The average home in Massachusetts has 5+ large appliances and there’s just over 1.5 million homes here (not including apartments, townhomes, condos, etc.).
- The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates there are only about 660 Home Appliance Repairers in Massachusetts today.
- That’s a lot of appliances and not many people trained and able to fix them.
So, bring your experience in HVAC/R, electrical, maintenance, or plumbing to us, and we’ll teach you how to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair home appliances. We’ll also set you up for a prosperous career here at Yale Appliance, in an industry where training like this is few and far between, paid schooling is almost unheard of, and opportunities are endless.
Learn and earn in our 1,000-hour paid training program – no apprenticeship needed to start your career!
- A combination of computer/classroom time, hands-on work in our shop, and shadowing out on the road.
- Designed for you to succeed, you’ll never feel thrown to the wolves. Mentorship and tons of resources are available whenever needed.
- You’ll also be trained on customer communication skills and conflict resolution.
- After 6 months, you’ll hit the road with our trainer for a few weeks to make sure you’re comfortable doing the job, and then you’re off and working full-time as an Appliance Repair Technician for Yale Appliance.
What else?
- Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm (in the service business, your end time may vary based on your day and where your last service call is).
- No on-call work, no nights, and overtime is available on Saturdays (it’s not required).
- You’re paid from Day 1 and you receive a van and fuel card immediately, so your commuting costs are 100% covered (even during the 1,000 hours of paid training!).
- Starting rate is $25.00 per hour with pay rate increases available as you move through the program. Depending on your performance in training, you could potentially be earning up to $29.00 per hour in just 6 months with us.
- What you put into this is what you’ll get out of it.
Sound too good to be true?
- Well, this is a lot of work and you’ll be challenged every day.
- Fixing appliances while alone in a customer’s home is not an easy job and it’s not for everyone.
