The Position:
The Foreman Electrician will join our Pasadena, Texas location and be responsible for leading members of the Hi-Tech electrical team in the successful completion of client projects. By applying their knowledge of industrial and commercial environments, and using their leadership and problem-solving skills, the individual in this role will ensure projects are properly planned, the work of electricians and apprentices is completed in a timely manner, and all client specifications are met. Hi-Tech is seeking a dependable and hardworking professional to fill this position.
- Lead and manage a team of electricians and apprentices, ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and up to code.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of electrical equipment installations.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, conduits, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
- Test electrical equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
- Identify and resolve any issues with electrical systems, performing diagnostics and ensuring quick and effective solutions.
- Order and manage materials and supplies, ensuring that the team has the necessary equipment to complete their tasks efficiently.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to company guidelines and OSHA standards, and ensuring compliance with electrical safety regulations as outlined in NFPA 70E.
- Monitor and report violations of policies, procedures and guidelines to the immediate supervisor.
- Keep accurate records of daily work, including Job Safety Analyses (JSA), timekeeping, project progress, and any issues or delays, ensuring all aspects of project plans, timelines, and deliverables are followed.
- Conduct inspections to ensure that projects meet outlined plans, quality expectations, OSHA standards and client requirements.
- Continuously communicate with direct employees, customers, and leadership team members about electrical projects.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must have a current Texas/NCCR journeyman license.
- Currently have, or be able to obtain, a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Foreman Electrician.
- Proven experience leading a team of 2-20 direct employees.
- Commercial and light industrial working experience.
- Duct Bank experience a plus.
- Working knowledge of NEC codes.
- In-depth knowledge of motor and control wiring, complex lighting, and power circuitry.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, layouts, and drawings.
- High level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Must have reliable transportation and tools.
- Willingness to travel throughout Houston and the surrounding metro area.
