Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both 120 & 277 voltage electrical systems, with a strong understanding of schematics and construction practices. This role involves working on various construction sites, where you will be responsible for building, renovating, and maintaining electrical systems in commercial settings. As a Journeyperson Electrician, you will utilize your expertise in hand tools and the NEC to ensure all electrical work meets safety standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in compliance with local codes and regulations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical systems.
- Work collaboratively with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure timely project completion.
- Perform troubleshooting on electrical systems to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Use hand tools and specialized equipment such as voltmeters to conduct tests and measurements.
- Ensure all work is performed safely while adhering to industry best practices.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with new technologies and methods in the electrical field.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of low voltage and high voltage systems.
- Familiarity with frame carpentry is a plus, as it may be required for certain projects.
- Ability to work effectively on construction sites while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.
- This is a working foreman position must have all appropriate tools required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Electrician
- Valid electrician license
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and wiring
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Attention to detail and good communication skills
- Physical dexterity and the ability to work in various environments
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification is a plus
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience is preferred
