Journeyman Electrician Job Description
SCHEDULE

Work hours: 3rd shift (approximate 11pm - 7am)
Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our team for a major civil construction project in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance within civil construction environments. The Journeyman Electrician will play a critical role in ensuring the electrical systems on-site meet safety standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Installations: Perform electrical installations including wiring, conduit work, switchgear, and lighting in compliance with local and national electrical codes.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and repair electrical issues to ensure systems are operating efficiently and safely.
- Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance checks on electrical systems, ensuring all components are functioning correctly and replacing or repairing faulty parts as necessary.
- Compliance: Adhere to all local, state, and national electrical codes, as well as company safety protocols and procedures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other trades, including civil engineers, project managers, and construction workers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the overall project.
- Safety: Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner, utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to OSHA regulations.
- Training: Provide guidance and training to apprentice electricians as needed.
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Electrician License is preferred but not required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician, with specific experience in civil construction projects preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, and schematics, with the ability to interpret and apply them in the field.
- Skills: Proficient in using electrical tools and equipment, with a strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.27 - $32.06 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
