POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsibilities include: maintaining and installing electrical circuits, devices and controllers of new and existing facility areas. Maintain all emergency generators, related electrical distribution, Life Safety and Utility systems through routine preventive maintenance and repairs. Assist in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the facility in good repair. Primary duties: Upkeep and routine maintenance of the electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, Life Safety devices and emergency generator systems. Knowledge of specialty building codes, fire regulations and regulatory agencies including AHCA, Joint Commission, EPA, OSHA, NEC, NFPA
Must be able to calculate length and shape of conduit systems with minimal waste; calculate circuit loads, size of protection devices and voltage drops in feeders and branch circuits using standard formulas. Ability to install conduit, make up conductors so no faults result, make connections to over-current protection devices so that no heat build-up occurs, calculate circuit loads, size of protection devices, diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions in electrical circuitry and devices. Motor control and device replacement, emergency life safety systems include: nurse call, fire panel and related devices, emergency generators and ATS’s and all components related to the electrical distribution system.
