SUMMARY OVERVIEW
The Assistant General Manager oversees daily station operations with a strong emphasis on safety, financial management, and client relationship management to ensure contract retention.Key responsibilities include achieving performance metrics, developing and implementing strategies for operational efficiency and profitability, guiding recruitment and training efforts, and collaborating with various stakeholders, including senior leadership and clients. The position also involves identifying and securing new business opportunities, maintaining and fostering customer relationships, and acting as a deputy to the General Manager when required, all while ensuring adherence to company standards and safety protocols.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing the day-to-day activities of the station operation
- Prioritizing workplace safety with established metrics with safety team
- Maintain financial performance of the location by controlling labor costs and expenditures
- Focus on client relationships and contract retention
- Developing and implementing strategies, processes, and procedures that will effectively influence company profitability and operational success
- Achieving monthly performance metrics and all service level agreements
- Identifying and securing new business opportunities
- Provide assistance when necessary related to recruitment, interview, training, and hiring employees
- Advise, consult, and coordinate with the General Manager, Vice President, Corporate Controller, Corporate and Field Support Staff, Training and Quality Assurance, Clients, and Vendors
- Meet administrative requirements as established
- Monitor and record operational and financial performance and report on a monthly and annual basis
- Work with Sales, Vice President, and Controller to develop competitively bids for new business
- Recommend salary adjustments, transfers, promotions, and terminations in partnership with leaders and HR
- Partner with training department to ensure proper training of assigned personnel
- Maintain and foster for success the working relationship with all the customers associated with the business unit (internal and external)
- Meet or exceed all established Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements
- Demonstrate regular, predictable attendance at the job location
- Stand-in when General Manager is absent
- Exceed PrimeFlight customer service and safety standard
- May be assigned other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years of age or older
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 8 years of management experience in the aviation cargo industry or a similar operational role
- Proven ability to manage large teams and complex operations
- Knowledge of industry-specific software and technology
- Experience in implementing process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Intermediate/Highly proficient Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents
- Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of adaptive technologies or methods as necessary
- Effectively communicate both in-person and through electronic means
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
- Ability to work any day/shift, including holidays, within a 24/7 operation
