Night Shift Electrician Technician – St. Charles, MO:
As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for supporting production packaging and processing operations, sanitation and participation in startup, changeover, and shutdown of operating equipment.
An electrician works to install and maintain (including diagnosing/troubleshooting, and correcting) electrical systems including equipment, components, and controls. They use their specialized certification and experience to analyze and diagnose electrical problems ensuring the safe and proper installation and operation of all equipment and other electrically operated devices.
Shift hours:
- Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Must be able to work up to 48 hours a week Sunday – Saturday
- Currently hiring for night shift
- 12 Hour shifts-
- AM Shift: 6am – 6:30pm
- PM Shift: 6pm – 6:30am
- You will be assigned to a crew that works in a rotating on-off pattern of 4 days on and 4 days off
- You will work 4 consecutive weeks of 48 work hours and then four consecutive weeks of 36 work hours, and then repeat.
- Pay averages out to 42 work hours or 44 regular pay hours a week over the 8-week work cycle.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Pay:
- $32.96 to $37.08 per hour based on skillset and experience
- $2,500 Signing Bonus: $1,250 paid at 90 days and $1,250 when completing 6 months of employment

- Responsibility for safe operation of plant controls system
- Troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment and control systems
- Install, maintain, modify and repair all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment
- Remain in compliance with current National Electric Code
- Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including wiring, MCCs (motor control centers), breaker panels (power distribution panels), transformers, transfer switches and other switch gear
- Possess solid industrial electrical/controls skills including experience working with electrical control panels, Allen Bradley drives, RS & ControlLogix and similar equipment (programming & troubleshooting), PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), and operator interface or HMI programming/maintenance
- Have experience working with low and 120/240/480-volt systems as well as experience working within Arc Flash Hazard environments. Knowledge competency for Electrical Safety practices (equipment and PPE is required)
- Specify components, complete work orders and record material utilized on jobs
- Run computer and data/communication cables, connect computer jacks and plugs and test for adequate operation
- Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects and troubleshoot equipment and systems
- Survey electrical systems, circuits, and plans
- Other tasks as assigned (may include assisting with mechanical installation, maintenance, production)
- Assist in training new employees
What you have to offer:
- Minimum of a high school education or GED
- Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems
- Demonstrable knowledge and skills for electrical installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment and associated control systems
- Mechanical aptitude to understand machine operation
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including: standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
- Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
- Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
- Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
- Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
- Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
- Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
