Job Description:
Performs general duties in and around the buildings of the facility including equipment installation, repair and maintenance, new construction and remodels.
**Plumbing Experience highly preferred** Journeyman Plumbing License required
Job Essentials
- Performs preventative maintenance on assigned equipment to ensure optimum operation, efficiency and safety requirements that meet facility standards and regulatory requirements.
- Performs corrective maintenance and repairs, including documentation on assigned equipment to ensure equipment operates in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
- Layouts and coordinates plumbing work with other trades, from start to completion on assigned projects within scheduled time. Installs systems by reviewing prints and ordering materials according to current building codes to ensure a safe and functioning mechanical system. Also responsible to inspect ordered materials.
- Accountable for clear and effective communication and follow through with staff at all levels regarding issues/concerns to promote professional knowledgeable outcomes.
- Properly prioritizes workloads and manages time effectively with minimal supervision. Responsible for accurate and timely submission of time keeping documentation.
- Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of policies and procedures relative to the facility to ensure all work meets facility standards and regulatory requirements. Attends department meetings and training as assigned. Completes education requirements and safety training on time.
- Performs job-related duties which may include being on call, event investigation, cross training, proper maintenance of tools and workspace, etc. Maintains proper levels of parts and supplies.Uses knowledge and skill to trouble shoot and analyze issues in order to propose appropriate solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed journeyman plumber.
- Four years journeyman experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the installation, repair and maintenance of iron, copper, cast iron, black pipe, PVC, ABS, PolyPure fusion, acid waste and drain piping, Polypropylene, CPVC and durcon pipe and all the associated fittings and valves.
- Demonstrated understanding of plumbing codes and regulations.Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blue prints.
Preferred Qualifications
- Plumbing in a healthcare setting
- Commercial plumbing experience
