Job Summary:
Working under general supervision, performs general preventative maintenance and corrective repair of building, systems, equipment. Assists in monitoring building system operations and equipment inspections. Will utilize skills in plumbing, electrical, painting, flooring repair and general mechanics skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Perform all necessary mechanical maintenance and operational procedures to assure maximum life and reliability to all mechanical systems.
- Knowledgeable in in Back Flow Prevention Inspections/repairs and required documentation.
- Ability to proficiently repair pumps, process, storm and sanitary drains.
- Manage building maintenance supplies. Inform supervisor and/or planner when supplies/parts are needed.
- Responsible for general maintenance and operational duties which include, but are not limited to, performance testing, maintenance, adjustment, and care of the following:
- Plumbing systems: hand wash faucets, hot/cold water stations, water piping repairs, various hot water heaters, drain repairs and servicing, plumbing related pump removal/repairs and installation etc.
- A thorough understanding of steam, steam condensate return, compressed air and vacuum systems, and hydraulics.
- General building systems. Perform inspections of the roof, floors, walls, overhead lights, emergency lights, dock leveling systems, eyewash stations and safety showers.
- Perform the duties of a plumber in the area consistent with plant policy and standards with respect to product quality, GMPs and safety.
- Responsible for upkeep and safe operation of all plumbing equipment and shop tools.
- Responsible for answering trouble calls and performing preventive maintenance in areas designated by Maintenance Management.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor, which may include assignments to other departments or areas of the plant for indefinite periods of time.
- Know, understand, and comply with Kraft Heinz Environmental Policy.
- Primary responsibility revolves around supporting infrastructure/building fabric and design, with a special emphasis on process and sanitary system reliability
- Respond to and complete work orders and PMs in a timely manner. Typical requests include: roll up doors, dock doors and ramps, painting, minor electrical, minor floor repair and miscellaneous requests as required. Complete regulatory audits and inspection reports.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance at workplace always.
- Perform duties within the required time frame as directed by the Supervisor or Lead Maintenance Technician.
- Proactively inspect interior and exterior of building appearance and condition. Effectively create and complete work orders based on findings of these inspections in a timely manner.
- Assist other technicians when needed.
SAFETY
- Maintain safety and quality awareness of team around line or process machinery.
- Maintain a clean work area, adhere to all GMP’s and safety policies such as LO/TO and Personal Protective Equipment
- Responsible for compliance with the safety policy and accident prevention and compliance programs.
- Responsible for reviewing work areas for potential losses and loss control opportunities and for reporting hazards, injuries/illnesses, and other losses to supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Computer experience.
- Some College or Technical School preferred.
- 2 years experience is preferred.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in one-on-one and group situations. Must be able to read and interpret op-codes, instructions, forecasts and other work-related documents. Must write clearly and legibly.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages and rates. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to real world situations.
- REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Computer literacy, teambuilding, multi-tasking, prioritizing, problem assessment/ troubleshooting, results driven, ability to teach others, initiative, quality orientation/attention to detail, safety awareness, teamwork/collaboration, adaptability.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs., climb a ladder, bend, twist, crawl, and jump.
- Able to work in tight spaces and outside in extreme weather conditions.
- Able to differentiate primary colors and read gauges on meters.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
