Overview:
Oregon Heating & Air Conditioning is seeking a skilled HVAC Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in HVAC systems, mechanical knowledge, and experience in equipment repair and maintenance. The Service Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining HVAC system in homes and businesses. This role requires the ability to work independently and with customers in a professional manner.
Responsibilities:
- Customer experience with 100% satisfaction.
- Repairing and maintaining HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and other equipment.
- Diagnosing problems with HVAC systems and recommending appropriate repairs.
- Conducting regular maintenance visits to ensure the HVAC systems are operating efficiently and safely.
- Testing HVAC systems for leaks, pressure, and other performance metrics.
- Communicating with customers about repair and maintenance needs and explaining technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
- Completing service reports and other paperwork related to service calls.
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of HVAC systems, technologies, and installation methods.
- Managing inventory and ensuring that necessary parts and equipment are available for service calls and maintenance visits.
Requirements:
- 3+ years proven experience as an HVAC Service Technician or similar role
- Proficiency in mechanical knowledge, HVAC systems, equipment repair, refrigeration, and field service.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an HVAC apprenticeship or similar training program preferred.
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
- EPA Certification
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to lift heaving equipment and work in various environments.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English language.
- NATE certification a plus
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Lifts, pushes, and pull up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
- Move equipment weighing several hundred pounds, with mechanical and human assistance.
- Work with substances commonly encountered in the HVAC profession.
- Climbs stairs and ladders on a regular basis.
- Works both indoors and outdoors, in temperature extremes, on a daily basis.
- Works in awkward and sometimes confined spaces, including crawl spaces and heights, requiring flexibility and full range of motion in limbs, head, neck, and torso.
- Maintains high safety standards at all times.
- Must be open to change in systems, people, priorities, and schedules.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
