Job: Controls Installation Technician – Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
As part of Varitec Controls and Service Solutions team in, expectations is that you will be a team player that puts our internal/external customers first. This position will be installing and/or commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing, building automation control systems while providing top tier customer service for all internal and external customers. In order to perform your tasks you will utilize your knowledge of HVAC Systems, control devices, computer operations, electronics, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, direct digital controls, airflow, hydronic systems, IT networking, Analytics and building controls technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities - Controls Installation Technician:
Represent the company by serving as the direct customer contact, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsible for installation, starting up, commissioning, servicing, and providing technical support on assigned projects.
Demonstrate initiative to work independently with the ability to meet deadlines within a stressful environment.
Possess sound working knowledge of HVAC fundamentals, systems, equipment, and controls, as well as computer networks, IP addresses and Ethernet communications.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, and understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs by extensively examining building layouts, updating issues, gathering materials and synchronizing onsite work.
Understands systems as a whole, including mechanical systems, controls and analytics.
Communicate effectively with contractors, customers, electricians and other trades on construction projects.
Maintain assigned stock of inventory, company equipment, and document all related activities by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration.
Keep current on BAS products and their advances, including installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of systems and devices.
Able to integrate with third party equipment/controls and understand BACnet, Modbus and other building automaton communications.
Able to safely use basic hand tools, screwdrivers, wire strippers and electrical meter.
Continually enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions. Also maintain vehicle by keeping records of service manuals, scheduling, completed repairs and maintenance service
Qualifications Controls Installation Technician:
· A minimum of a high school diploma
- License/Certification: Electrical Journeyman License
- Willing to travel
- Valid US driver’s license
Other technical experience such as military, on the job training programs, etc. may meet this requirement as determined by local management.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the construction industry.
Maintain a satisfactory driving record which, per Varitec Controls and Service Solutions’ vehicle policy, allows the individual to drive a company vehicle.
Ability to use Windows applications primarily Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Working knowledge of refrigeration machinery, tools and their application.
