Job Duties
- Responsible for managing multiple electricians and electrical foremen.
- Review individual daily PTPs.
- Track production of crew members to make sure minimum daily installation are achieved.
- Responsible for the safety and safe working conditions of his or her project employees.
- Review schematics for wiring and installation of equipment and fixtures for motors, generators, switches, circuit breakers and fuse boxes.
- Inspect wiring and fixtures for conformance to the company specifications or local electrical codes.
- Overview production schedules and estimate work hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, drawings, and job orders assigned to the workers and their duties.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of products.
- Analyze and resolve working problems and/or assist in solving problems.
- Provide skilled electrical expertise to crews in all phases of construction.
- Requisition and inspection of materials
- Walk prospective jobs and assist with bid calculations.
- Ensure parts and materials are ordered, received, inventoried, and stored appropriately.
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Ensure all pre-task plans and job hazard analysis forms are filled out properly daily.
- Maintain timesheets and production records of assigned employees and projects.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency within the company and all departments and/or work crews.
- Operate company vehicles, forklift, and aerial lift in conjunction with proper certification.
- Interpret company policies to the employees and enforce safety regulations.
- Ensure collective training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions are conducted.
- Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve goals.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
- Demonstrate familiarity with current client(s), the company and OSHA safety regulations and policies.
- Ensure all employees follow proper safety procedures and policies.
- Inform Safety Manager and Supervisor of all safety violations and injuries immediately.
- Prepare and submit crew’s daily timesheets.
- Perform basic jobsite safety audits.
- Review and sign off on PTPs. Participate and mentor employees on completing PTPs.
- Maintain safety barricades, signages, etc.
- Review scope of work with Project Engineer, Project Manager.
- Prepare basic material take-offs for material ordering.
- Schedule material and equipment to be delivered prior to starting work
- Call off rented equipment.
- When directed, complete Time and Material sheets and get the necessary signatures.
- Read and understand drawings and specifications.
- Review progress of work and ensure that work is per plans and specifications.
- Check quality of work.
- Complete daily reports.
- OSHA 30 required and maintain proper equipment operating training certifications.
- Hold weekly toolbox talk meetings.
- Ensure crew is participating in shift-prep in the morning and after lunch.
- Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
Experience, Skillset, & Educational Requirements
- 10 years’ experience of skilled electrical work.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and ten-year background check
- Reliable transportation, valid Driver’s License, and favorable driving record
- Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted during work activities.
- Ability to read blueprints and knowledge of electrical applications.
- Knowledge of methods and techniques of performing skilled electrical work.
- Methods and techniques of storing equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Principles and procedures of record keeping.
- Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
- Ability to prepare labor and material estimates.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Knowledge and acceptance of good health and safety principles and practices are desired.
- Skilled in interpersonal communication by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted during work.
- Working Foreman must be Proficient in wiring of Ansel systems, Motor controls & Lighting controls, Equipment operations (Mini excavator).
