Principal Accountabilities - This position requires daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities that must be completed in a timely manner.
· Electrician System Installation: Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with local building codes, blueprints, and project specifications. Set up and connect electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
· Reading Blueprints and Technical Diagrams: Interpret electrical blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics to determine the layout and installation of electrical components. Power Distribution: Set up and maintain power distribution systems, including electrical panels, transformers, and generators. Connect and distribute power to various electrical loads and circuits within the construction site.
· Wiring and Conduit Installation: Install electrical wiring and conduits, including running wires through walls, ceilings, and floors. Safely and neatly route and secure wiring to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.
· Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Maintain, inspect and troubleshoot electrical equipment, such as motors, generators, and HVAC systems. Identify and repair electrical malfunctions and issues.
· Compliance with Electrical Codes and Regulations: Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations. Obtain necessary permits and inspections to ensure code compliance.
· Safety Procedures: Adhere to strict safety practices and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of oneself and other construction workers. Implement safety measures and precautions while working with electrical systems. Knowledge of safety procedures and working safely with electrical equipment and tools.
· Collaborative Work: Coordinate with other construction trades, such as plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general contractors, to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems with other construction entities.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including diagrams, work orders, and inspection reports. Stay current with industry standards and advancements in electrical systems.
· Communications: Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Supervisors, and clients to report progress, address issues, and coordinate work schedules.
Education, Experience, and Job Requirements – This position requires at least minimum requirements.
· Electrical Certification or a related experience. In lieu of education, a proven experience in the construction process in electrical operations. Electricians may need a state or local license to work legally in a particular area.
· Proficiency in basic math to make precise measurements and calculations.
· Familiarity with and access to tools and equipment commonly used by electricians, such as wire cutters, pliers, conduit benders, and voltage testers.
