As a Duct Install Apprentice, you will assist with system installations in residential projects. You will work closely with lead technicians to layout and install essential materials and equipment for HVAC systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Job Site Preparation: Prepare residential job sites for ductwork installation.
- Assist Lead Technician: Support lead technicians installing and running new ductwork in various residential homes.
- Material Distribution: Aid in distributing materials as directed by the lead technician.
- Project Collaboration: Follow instructions from lead technicians and project managers regarding project specifics.
- Manual Labor: Engage in tasks that involve strenuous manual labor.
- Welding and Brazing: Participate in welding and brazing activities.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment and attend all safety meetings.
- Time Management: Document and track work hours using software applications.
- Tool Usage: Utilize basic sheet metal and power tools effectively.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of the HVAC trade.
Skills:
- Dependability and punctuality.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Capacity for independent judgment.
- Willingness to learn and use app-based software for residential tasks.
- Excellent time management abilities.
- Basic computer literacy.
Working Conditions:
- Operate in open work areas with moderate everyday noise.
- Collaborate closely with other team members and contractors.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, including heat and cold.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
Pay:
- $18.00 base pay + commissions
