Job Description for HVAC Installation Technician
- As an HVAC installation technician, you will travel to our client’s properties, install heating, cooling and ventilation (HVAC) systems and inspect new equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.
Responsibilities for HVAC Installation Technician
- Installing the customer’s heating, cooling, and ventilation (HVAC) systems, and equipment.
- After installation, check that the new system is functioning properly.
- Maintain a detailed inventory of all HVAC equipment and resources.
- Comply with service standards, work instructions, and customers’ requirements.
- Explain replacement opportunities for current aging, inefficient, or underperforming systems outside of installations of new systems.
- There may be some opportunity or overlap for servicing and preventative maintenance of HVAC systems, but the primary function of this role is installation focused.
- Ensure jobs are properly staged; sign off on job quality checklist.
- Show yourself as professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business.
- Develop a proven track record in heating and cooling systems including the ability to draw simple diagrams and read blueprints and other diagrams.
- Establish customer rapport to sell the right products and services.
- Educate and assist customers in choosing the best finance options and maintenance plans.
- Understand your service criteria and hold yourself accountable for exceeding revenue goals.
- Adhere to the company’s plan for resolving customer complaints quickly and favorably.
- Work alongside coordinators to ensure overall success of the business.
- Maintain a clean, organized job site and well inventoried truck.
- Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings, trade shows and retreats.
- Train and mentor apprentices to ensure quick, accurate repairs and installations.
- Be accurate and timely with invoices, time cards, curbside feedback and option sheets.
Desired Skills and Experience for HVAC Installation Technician
- EPA certification with knowledge of applicable installation and venting codes.
- Minimum 2 years of applicable experience.
- Driver's license with a safe driving record.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Professional appearance, strong work ethic, and great attitude.
- Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities.
- High integrity with advanced social skills and the ability to make solid connections.
