POSITION CONCEPT:
Our Facility Services Electrician II position applies mastery skill level to perform all types of electrical maintenance and repairs to the electrical systems and infrastructure equipment. This position acts as a leaderman in working and leading large complex electrical projects. This position serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex electrical problems. This position requires the individual to work independently with minimal supervision to accomplish the assigned work. Ensures all completed work complies with Safe Work Practices.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Layout and construct major electrical jobs.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex electro-mechanical equipment.
- Modify and/or design control wiring to meet the desired operational outcome.
- Troubleshoot and/or install electrical control systems that integrate “programmable controllers” into their control scheme.
- Perform cost estimate time and materials for electrical projects.
- Interprets standard plans, blueprints and circuitry layouts.
- Perform multi-skills in other Facility Service trades of same or lower levels by having a basic knowledge of General Trades, Plumbing and HVAC.
- Provide training & guidance to lower level Mechanics.
EDUCATION:
Required: Valid High School diploma or valid GED
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
Required: Must have completed and received certification through a State Accredited Electrical Vocational/Technical program. Valid driver license with a good driving record
Preferred: Formal training in an area of specialization (Emergency Generation Systems, Security Alarms Systems, Fire Alarm & Suppression Systems and Building UPS).
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Minimum of ten (10) years of related electrical experience, performing the duties and responsibilities of this position in a commercial, construction and /or maintenance environment.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Required: Mastery knowledge of the principles of electricity and the National Electrical Code. Strong operational knowledge of building automation systems. Working knowledge of the “NFPA 70E.”
Preferred: Proficiency in at least one of the specialization areas within the Electrical trades, such as: Emergency Generation Systems, Security Alarms Systems, Fire Alarm & Suppression Systems and Building UPS. Ability to use a computer with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Overtime is required based on business needs and may include evenings, weekend & holidays.
- Willing & able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must successfully complete the Physical Worker Medical Physical Exam
