Job Details:
Purpose
Provide HVAC support for the Applied Research Laboratories.
Responsibilities
-
Repair, maintenance, and installation of HVAC systems at ARL and LTTS.
-
Building maintenance and repairs in areas such as refrigeration systems, plumbing, air compressors, ice machines and installing and changing water filters.
-
Assist in construction projects including carpentry, painting, furniture and assembly.
-
Logistics support including moving furniture and equipment.
-
Operate construction equipment such as forklifts and vehicles.
-
Effectively use computer systems, software applications such as SharePoint and Excel to track all HVAC related equipment’s maintenance schedule
-
Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
-
HS graduation or GED.
-
Three years of journeyman level HVAC experience.
-
At least two years practical experience in repair, maintenance and installation of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.

Flexibility to work in other fields of construction such as assisting in building construction.
-
Demonstrated ability to use tools required for the job.
-
The successful candidate will possess the ability to follow through and complete jobs assigned and use construction tools and equipment safely as well as perform work with accuracy.

Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision and effectively communicate with all groups of clients.

Must have worked on and have knowledge of electronic and pneumatic controls, calibration, and proper use of test equipment to verify performance.
-
Able to work under pressure and accept supervision.
-
Regular and punctual attendance, may also need to be available to work additional hours other than regularly scheduled hours.
US Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Completion of HVAC related technical courses.
-
Completion of construction and maintenance technical courses.
-
More than three years of journey level experience with HVAC maintenance and repair.
-
Texas Licensed Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractor, Class A or B, or Texas Certified ACR technician with 5 years practical experience in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration work.

Texas Certification to Purchase Refrigerant Products.
-
Demonstrated leadership role on multidisciplinary construction projects.
Driving Required
This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Salary Range
$50,000-$54,000+/negotiable based on qualifications.
