Principal Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. They will also perform and document maintenance on production and miscellaneous equipment, including both preventive and corrective actions. Mechanical, electrical, and power tools are employed for the performance of these tasks. Organization and maintenance of spare parts and supplies stock is also required.
Essential Functions:
- HVAC Installation & Maintenance:
- Install new HVAC units in commercial or industrial buildings.
- Install ductwork and thermostats to control HVAC systems.
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure HVAC systems operate effectively.
- Inspect and troubleshoot issues with existing HVAC units.
- Replace parts on existing HVAC units as necessary.
- Maintain an inventory of replacement parts and order supplies as needed.
- Comply with company and industry safety standards.
- Production Equipment Maintenance:
- Inspect and perform periodic maintenance on a variety of production equipment, including:
- CNC and manual machining centers
- Pyrolytic carbon deposition equipment
- Vibratory and centrifugal mass finishing machines
- Medical product inspection systems and instruments
- Vacuum furnace systems
- Ultrasonic cleaners, microscopes, and rotary handpieces
- Diagnose problems and perform corrective maintenance as required.
- Documentation & Inventory Management:
- Utilize maintenance software and paper records to track and document maintenance activities.
- Monitor and maintain the purified water system.
- Organize and maintain a stock of spare parts and supplies required for maintenance.
- Make routine electrical or plumbing hookups and installations.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in a similar role; vocational/technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment.
- Proficient with power and hand tools; skilled in using testing devices.
- Excellent mechanical skills and physical capability for HVAC work.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in extreme temperatures.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, internet, email).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must read, write, and speak English proficiently.
